MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
It is my honor to take over as 2021 President of the Transportation Club of Seattle, and I am looking forward to continuing the great work of my predecessors and board, as well as bringing some new things to the club.
The events of 2020 upended life as we know it and the club was no exception, but under the leadership of Past President Jace Thompson and Past Executive Director Ian McKillop, we adapted and kept going. Our monthly Lunch & Learns moved to a virtual environment and we were able to continue offering great speaker presentations and networking opportunities. Unfortunately the golf tournament had to be canceled but our support of Salvation Army Seattle White Center did not waiver and we were able to raise almost $15,000 at our annual holiday party and fundraiser. Board members expanded our communications through social media to help keep members informed and connected, and the directory was published and distributed as always.
In 2021, we will continue to bring the membership (and remember guests always welcome!) great Lunch & Learn presentations – virtual until such time as we can get together in person again. We plan to bring you the directory, golf tournament and holiday party as usual, and are working to communicate even more through a variety of media – social, our website, and a monthly newsletter. In addition, we are working on providing new networking opportunities and ways to bring in new membership and mentor the next generation of supply chain professionals – taking advantage of the immense amount of skills and experience held by our current membership.
Please reach out to me at any time if you have questions, ideas or want to get further involved. The entire Board of Directors of the Transportation Club of Seattle is committed to keeping your club relevant, fun and great value for your time and membership dues.
