Feb 2020 Luncheon

What a great meeting for February! It was fun-filled and action packed, a great start to our 110th year as a Club.

It was Past President’s Day and we started the program introducing our previous leaders in attendance. It was exciting see 12 former Presidents return and show their continued support of the club.

We then announced our two annual awards, Company of the Year and Person of the Year. Lynden Inc received the well-deserved recognition for Company and Mark Miller of MacMillan-Piper was name Person of the Year. Congratulations to our winners and thank you for all your contributions to the Transportation industry.

Our speaker was Bill Mongelluzzo from the Journal of Commerce. The veteran industry reporter provided valuable insights into the current state of international trade and key trends to watch including new fuel requirements, the impacts of tariffs and potential disruptions caused by the coronavirus.

His presentation, including stats on volume and price trends, can be found on the Seattle Transportation Clubs Website > Previous Meetings & Events Tab> Bottom of the page for download.

Next up is Grant Goodale, Co-founder of Convoy. Mark it on your calendars for March 4th! We look forward to seeing you there.

Did you know? The Transportation Club is the 4th oldest active Club in the U.S. Which one is the oldest? Submit your guess and win a prize!
